RV Directions contains many types of public campgrounds including BLM campgrounds, Corps of Engineers campgrounds, local (city/county) campgrounds, National Forest System campgrounds, National Park campgrounds and State Park campgrounds.  The map icons for public campgrounds are green with a letter identifying the campground type  (B=BLM, C=Corps of Engineers, L=Local Park, F=National Forest Service,  N=National Park and S=State Park). 

The example above shows a local (county) park near Charleston, SC that has an affiliation with Good Sam.  The campground has 125 sites, 11 of which are pullthroughs.  The average site is 25 foot wide and 72 foot long and will support big rigs.  50 amp electrical service is available.  The campground costs between $20 and $30 and is considered a great campground of great value.
